ZAMBOANGA CITY , Philippines– Combined military and police forces rescued two women 30 minutes after the kidnapping was reported and captured the two alleged kidnappers in Iligan City last Friday, the military said yesterday.

Kathlyn Jane Dapol and Jingle Rebosora, both of Iligan City, were allegedly kidnapped by Mark Rebosora and Rogelio Bation in Barangay San Miguel, according to Capt. Jefferson Somera, spokesman for the 1st Infantry Division of the Philippine Army.

Police said Mark is a former husband of Jingle.

Although the motive for the kidnapping could be family-related, the suspects were being prepared against the suspects as one of the victims was not related to anyone of them.

The suspects were held at the Iligan City police.

The suspects, who reportedly forced the victims to ride a vehicle, were arrested at a checkpoint in Sitio Nunucan, Barangay Sta. Maria in Iligan City.

Lt. Col. Danilo Ibon, commander of the 4th Mechanized Battalion, said they immediately set up checkpoints after they were informed of the kidnapping.

Brig. Gen. Felicito Virgilio Trinidad, acting commander of the 1st ID, lauded the soldiers for the immediate arrest of the suspects and the rescue of the victims.
