Jeepney driver yields P5.2M shabu in drug bust
MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized P5.2 million worth of shabu from a suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Cavite, the agency bared on Wednesday.
Members of the agency's Special Enforcement Service confiscated the illegal drugs from Roberto Fernandez, 46, a jeepney driver, of Carigma Street, Tanag, Antipolo, Rizal.
The PDEA said that Fernandez is included in the watch list of drug personalities in Ilocos region.
Operatives apprehended Fernandez in front of a popular shopping mall along Aguinaldo Highway, Barangay Panapaan, Bacoor, Cavite last July 9 at around 6:30 p.m.
Undercover agents pounced on Fernandez as he was handing over one kilogram of shabu to a poseur buyer.
Also seized from the suspect were a 9mm Pistol Pietro Beretta with 11 pieces of live ammunition, a brand new Mitsubishi Montero (BV7546) and the four P500 marked bills used as buy-bust money.
