P178.8-M lotto combination came to retiree in a dream

Perseus Echeminada - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The winning lotto combination came to him in a dream two years ago.

Thus recalled a 65-year-old retiree from Pangasinan who yesterday claimed the P178.8-million jackpot of the 6/55 Grand Lotto draw last July 1, according to Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II.

The retiree, who has three children, beat the 28.9 million odds by picking the six-digit combination of 9-21-43-35-54-12 which had a jackpot of P178,849,233.20.

Rojas quoted the retiree as saying that he would donate part of his winnings to a church, and also would share the money with his children and eight siblings and that he would buy a house and lot.

The retiree said it took him a week to claim the prize because he was afraid that people would learn that he won the lotto jackpot.
