Escaped rape suspect falls in Kidapawan

John Unson - The Philippine Star

KIDAPAWAN City, Philippines - Policemen, disguised as peasants, arrested early Sunday a rape suspect who escaped from the detention facility here of the city police last March.

Superintendent Leo Ajero, city police director, said the 48-year-old Armando Minoza did not resist arrest when policemen barged into his friend’s house in Barangay Paco,  where he has been hiding since his escape from prison last March.

Minoza will litigated for rape by the Regional Trial Court here.

“He did not resist arrest. He was stunned when he saw police operatives surround him while in bed,” Ajero said.

Ajero said they learned of Minoza’s presence in Barangay Paco from its residents.

He said they are now studying the possibility of filing criminal charges against Minoza's friend.
