MANILA, Philippines - Another suspected member of the Bukidnon drug ring and his companion were arrested by anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in an operation.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Ricky Salcedo, 43, a high value targeted personality of PDEA and resident of Valencia City, Bukidnon Province.
Reports said that on June 28, combined elements of PDEA Regional Office 10 and Bukidnon police, armed with a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Josefina Gentiles Bacal of Regional Trial Court Branch 10, swooped down Salcedo in Valencia City, just before midnight.
Salcedo has a standing warrant of arrest for selling illegal drugs.
Authorities also arrested Salcedo’s companion, Jade Nobong, 31, a mechanic, during the operation.
Seized from the suspects were two sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu weighing approximately 10.75 grams, a knife from Batangas, two pieces of bamboo sealers and a pair of stainless scissors.
Last week, Virgo Gempisao, 41, also a member of the Bukidnon Drug ring, was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay 9, Sumpong, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
PDEA agents confiscated seven pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu, with an estimated market value of P250,000.
