MANILA, Philippines - A member of the Bukidnon drug ring was arrested by anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency during a buy-bust operation, seizing P250,000 worth of illegal drugs.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Virgo Gempisao, 41, of Barangay Dalwangan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
Cacdac said that last June 24, around 3 p.m., elements of the PDEA Regional Office 10 arrested Gempisao during a sting operation at Barangay 9, Sumpong, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
Authorities also confiscated from the suspect seven pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with an estimated market value of 250,000 and marked bills used as buy-bust money.
The suspect is now temporarily detained at PDEA RO 10 for documentation while the pieces of drug evidence were brought to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory for qualitative examination.
