Clerk’s captors seek money for medicine

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – The kidnappers of a clerk of a state-run university here have asked for money for his medicine, police said yesterday.

Senior Superintendent Edwin de Ocampo, city police chief, said the kidnappers has contacted the family of Alrashid Rojas, 56, clerk of the Islamic research and study center in the Western Mindanao State University, who was seized by eight armed men from his house in the coastal village of Campo Islam here last Saturday night.

“There is no ransom demand yet, what was demanded by the kidnappers was an unspecified amount of money for the medicine of the victim,” De Ocampo said.
