NFA employee hurt, son killed in Pagadian City ambush
ZAMBOANGA CITY - An employee of the National Food Authority (NFA) and two others were wounded while his son was killed in an ambush Tuesday morning in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.
The police identified the wounded NFA employee as Radzak Bago, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds while his slain son was identified as Jameril Bago, both residents of Barangay Upper Campo Islam, Labangan town. The two others who were also wounded were not immediately named by the police.
Senior Superintendent Julius Muñez, Zamboanga del Sur provincial police director, said the victims who were on board Bago's vehicle were ambushed a few meters away from the local NFA office in Barangay Tiguma.
Police said that two men armed with M16 rifles initially fired at the victims. A third gunman, armed with a .45 pistol, who was waiting beside the NFA gate later on joined the shooting.
The assailants escaped on board a motorcycle.
The victims were rushed to the nearby hospital, but doctors declared the son of Bago dead on arrival.
Police are looking at rido or family feud as the possible motive behind the ambush.
