Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Tension gripped a government hospital in Makati City after personnel received a bomb threat through text on Wednesday morning, police said.

Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban, Makati police chief,  said a nurse of the Ospital ng Makati received the text message around 8:40 a.m., which says a bomb was planted somewhere inside the facility.

"Psst. Saan nyo gusto ko ilagay bomba? Ah mas maganda hanapin nyo n lng!, Gudluck umpisahan nyo n2 oras meron kayo," Lukban quoted the text as saying.

Hospital administrators immediately evacuated patients and personnel as members of the Makati police's explosive and ordinance division checked the premises.

The bomb squad discovered a suspicious bag inside a comfort room at the second floor of the hospital, but did not find the bomb.

Policemen also failed to find any bomb from the other areas of the hospital.

Hospital authorities, meanwhile, said that they continued to accept patients at the emergency room while the police operations were ongoing.
