MANILA, Philippine - An American from Malibu, California is now the subject of a police manhunt after allegedly stealing a flat screen TV and leaving a motel in Pasay City without paying his bills.
Senior Police Officer 2 Joel Landicho of the Pasay City Police Office identified the American through his US driver's license as Marco Gonzaga Saca.
Landicho said that Saca took a 32-inch flat screen TV from the Victoria Court motel and left the establishment last Monday without settling his P10,000 bill.
Landicho said that Saca left the motel on board a white Volvo car.
He added that the motel's personnel attempted to stop the American from leaving by setting up improvised barriers. Saca, however, just ran over the barriers, injuring a guest attendant identified as Jose Mari Rancapan.
Landicho said that the motel's management also suspects that Saca might have also stolen TV sets from other Victoria Court motel branches in Malate and Buendia over the weekend.
Saca is facing charges for estafa, theft and reckless imprudence resulting in physical injury before the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office.
Landicho said that they were still checking with the Land Transportation Office if Saca was the real owner of the white Volvo.
