Timor-Leste leader visits Manila Water

MANILA, Philippines - As part of his official state visit to the Philippines, Timor-Leste Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão visited Manila Water’s East La Mesa water treatment plant in Rodriguez, Rizal recently.

Manila Water president and chief executive officer Gerardo Ablaza, Jr. welcomed Gusmão, who was briefed on the utility’s operations by Ferdinand dela Cruz, group director for east zone business operations and corporate strategic affairs group.

The delegation, which also included ministers of Timorese government agencies, sought to observe best practices in water treatment and operations in the country.

The East La Mesa water treatment plant is the only utility facility that Gusmão visited while in the Philippines.
