DAVAO CITY, Philippines  â€“ Hundreds of city residents were stranded when non-stop heavy rains fell Wednesday night, causing massive flooding in at least 15 barangays.

The affected barangays included Los Amigos, Maa, Matina Crossing, Matina Pangi, Bajada, Downtown, Torres, Matina Aplaya, and Talomo.

Also heavily flooded were Ecoland Subdivisions 1 and 2, the SM area and the whole stretch of Quimpo Boulevard and R. Castillo Street, areas around Magsaysay Park, and Marfori Subdivision.

Weather forecasters said an intertropical convergence zone will afffect Mindanao, the Visayas and the Bicol region this weekend.
