Workers in Zambo Peninsula to get P12 wage increase

Mayen Jaymalin - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Workers in Zamboanga Peninsula are getting a much-awaited pay hike, the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) said yesterday.

The NWPC said the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board in Zamboanga Peninsula has approved a P12 increase in the daily take-home pay of minimum wage earners in the region.

The salary hike brings to P267 from P222 the minimum pay for agricultural workers, and P285 from P235 for non-agricultural workers.

The new minimum wage rates will take effect on June 10.
