Barangay chairwoman hurt in grenade blast in Pagadian
MANILA, Philippines - A lady village chief was hurt after an unidentified man hurled a grenade at his home in Pagadian City, early Wednesday.
Police said Judith Adal, 48, barangay chairwoman at Purok Sweet Love, Dumagoc, sustained a wound on her right hand was rushed to Jamillarin hospital for medical treatment.
Initial investigation showed that the victim and her family were sleeping when an unidentified assailant lobbed an MK2 fragmentation grenade at their house around 12:40 a.m.
Investigators recovered from the scene the safety lever, fuse, spring and several shrapnels.
Police have yet to determine the reason behind the attack.
