TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A high school principal in Tabuk City, capital of Kalinga province, would no longer grace the opening of classes today as he was gunned down near his house last Friday, authorities said.
Police said the victim, Alvino Lupnacan, principal of the Cawagayan National High School, was on his way to take a bath in an irrigation canal near his house in Barangay Bulanao Norte, Tabuk City when the gunman approached him and shot him in the chest.
Relatives rushed Lupnacan to a nearby clinic but he was declared dead on arrival.
Investigators were still clueless on the killing.
