3 killed, 6 hurt in Cagayan, Isabela mishaps

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – Three people were killed while six others were wounded in two separate vehicular accidents in Lasam, Cagayan and Cauayan City, Isabela provinces the other day.

The fatalities were identified as Gilbert Littaua, 49; Saturnina Apil, 56, and Henry Rumbaoa, 29, all Barangay Allanay in Lasam town.

Littaua reportedly died on the spot while the two other victims were declared dead on arrival at the Lasam District Hospital.

Chief Inspector Eduardo Felix, Lasam police chief, said Rumbaoa, was allegedly drunk when he drove his motorcycle, which crashed into another motorcycle driven by Littaua, who had Apil as backrider.

In Cauayan City, a 25-year-old furniture maker and his five relatives were injured when a passenger bus hit their tricycle in Barangay San Fermin.

Reports said Yancie Pasion, the driver of the tricycle, made a sudden turn to the left causing the bus, driven by Edwin Tolentino, 52, to hit them from behind.
