Access road from SLEX closed

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday afternoon closed the access road from the South Luzon Expressway (southbound)  to the West  Service Road as it implements an experimental traffic scheme seeking  to decongest traffic from the Sales Bridge to Bicutan in Parañaque City.

MMDA Traffic Discipline Office chief, Yves Gonzalez,  said the road closure will be during Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

"This is the time period when the traffic volume is most heavy, especially from the villages like Merville. This road is their only way out. This scheme should enable traffic to flow smoothly from the villages along the West Service Road out," said Gonzalez.

Gonzalez said the MMDA would still observe the changes in traffic pattern and flow to be made by the experimental scheme.

"If this is effective, we would make it permanent. We could also adjust the time period of the road closure," he said. - Mike Frialde
