CAMP GUILLERMO NAKAR, Lucena City , Philippines   â€“ A female employee of a radio station was seized by two armed men in Candelaria, Quezon before dawn yesterday.

Reports said Melinda Jennifer Glifonea, a block timer at 103.1 FM Edge Radio, was accosted by two men wearing baseball caps and their faces covered with handkerchiefs while eating in a restaurant and dragged into a silver Toyota Innova.

The two men initially declared a holdup in the eatery and instructed the diners to lie on the floor before seizing Glifonea.

Glifonea had just come from the miting de avance of Candelaria mayoral candidate Fernando Boy Bata where she gave a speech.

The closed-circuit television camera at the restaurant reportedly captured the incident.

Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr., spokesman of the Philippine National Police, said Candelaria policemen have coordinated with nearby police stations to locate Glifonea and arrest her kidnappers.  â€“ With Alexis Romero
