Widow, grandson killed in Tarlac fire

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – A 78-year-old widow and her grandson were burned to death in a fire that destroyed their house in Barangay San Rafael, Tarlac City last Wednesday.

According to a belated police report, Marina Santos and Lawrence, 18, were asleep when the fire broke out at past 11:30 p.m.

Firefighters from the Tarlac City Bureau of Fire Protection and Chinese Fire Brigade put out the fire at past 1 a.m.

Arson probers have yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
