BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – A disqualification case was filed against re-electionist Rep. Ana Go, of the second district of Isabela, for alleged vote buying.
The complainant, Harry Soler, who is running for mayor of Roxas town, also included his rival, re-electionist Mayor Benedict Calderon, in the disqualification case he filed before the provincial prosecutor’s office earlier this week.
Soler, of the Liberal Party (LP), alleged that Go and Calderon used the proceeds of the tobacco excise tax in buying votes.
Soler is a relative of former three-term congressman Edwin Uy, who is running against Go in tomorrow’s elections.
Go denied the allegations saying they distributed funds for the programs and projects of the local government.
