Rains likely over parts of Mindanao on election day

MANILA, Philippines - Rains are likely to prevail over parts of Mindanao on election day, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its special weather outlook for the midterm polls on Monday, PAGASA said there is high probability of rainfall (70 to 90 percent) over the Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao and Soccsksargen regions, and the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao on Monday. 

It said temperatures in these areas may range between 24 and 33 degrees Celsius. 

There is “medium” chance (60 to 80 percent) of rainfall in the Ilocos region, Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon, Bicol, Northern Mindanao, and the Caraga region.

The day temperatures in these areas are expected to be between 24 and 35 degrees Celsius. 

Meanwhile, there is low probability of rain showers (50 to 70 percent) in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, National Capital Region, Mimaropa, and Western, Central and Eastern Visayas, where temperatures may be between 16 and 35 degrees Celsius.
