ILOILO CITY, Philippines – Police are tightly monitoring towns in northern Iloilo where poll-related violence might erupt.
“We have received information on intense political rivalries in most of these areas,†said Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., Region 6 police director, referring to the towns of Ajuy, Barotac Viejo, Lemery, Balasan, Batad, Carles, Concepcion, Estancia, Sara and San Dionisio.
