ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Police caught at least four supporters of the local opposition allegedly buying votes in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte last Wednesday.
But Gov. Rolando Yebes, second congressional district bet, denied the vote buying, saying his four supporters were merely framed up to discredit his camp.
The four, according to the Dipolog police, were caught in Yebes’ beach house after a policeman posed as a prospective voter. They supposedly yielded sample ballots with P3,000 attached to these.
