Slain judge’s kin question DOJ ruling

Danny B. Dangcalan - The Philippine Star

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – The family of slain Kabankalan regional trial court judge Henry Arles has questioned the resolution of the Department of Justice (DOJ) clearing three of the 10 respondents in the murder complaint they filed last year.

Arles’ son Philip told reporters that their family feels sad over the recent development, but that they would find other legal means to see to it that all 10 respondents are charged in court and eventually convicted.

In a resolution, the DOJ dismissed the murder complaint against Negros Occidental Vice Gov. Genaro Alvarez Jr., his son Ilog Mayor John Paul Alvarez, and Cauayan Vice Mayor Jerry Tabujara, due to insufficient evidence.

Philip said they are planning to refile the case against the three.
