Magnitude-5.1 quake jolts Quezon province
MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude-5.1 earthquake hit Quezon province on Wednesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The agency said the quake recorded at 1:38 p.m. was tectonic in origin.
The quake's epicenter was traced to 76 kilometers northeast of Jomalig town in Quezon, according to Phivolcs' initial bulletin.
The quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Barangay Manlayo in Guinayangan town.
No damage and aftershocks were expected from the quake, Phivolcs said.
