Palm oil project to rise in North Cotabato

The Philippine Star

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – A $10-million palm oil crushing mill project set to be established in Carmen, North Cotabato is expected to benefit local residents.

The project in Barangay Tacupan is a joint venture between the Univanich Carmen Palm Oil Corp.(UCPOC), of Thailand, and the Carmen Palm Oil Mill and Development Corp., of the Taliño clan in Carmen.

Univanich is said to be one of Thailand’s leading producers of crude palm oil and kernel oil.

Univanich chair Apirag Vanich said the project would help boost the development and stabilize peace in the area.

North Cotabato Gov. Emmylou Talino-Mendoza said the project would give jobs to the residents.
