Tornado hits Bulacan town

MALOLOS CITY, Philippines – At least 16 houses were damaged while 22 families were affected when a tornado hit two villages in Bustos, Bulacan last Friday.

Mayor Arnel Mendoza said 15 houses were damaged in Barangay Malawak and one in the nearby Barangay Liciada when strong winds carried off  roofs and felled trees for 30 minutes.

Mendoza, who was campaigning in Barangay Malawak when the tornado came, said the winds also dumped ice and rain on the village. 

It was the fourth time in six years the town was hit by a tornado.
