MANILA, Philippines - A 72-year-old retiree from Cainta, Rizal has claimed the P132-million jackpot in last Saturday’s draw of the 6/55 Grand Lotto, according to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

Jose Ferdinand Rojas II, PCSO general manager, said the lucky player placed an P80 bet on the six-digit winning combination 7-27-48-53-11-31 which had a jackpot of P132,004,796.40.

Thirty-two other players each won P150,000  for getting five of the six digits.

The retiree, who has six children, has been a lotto bettor since the numbers game was launched in 1995.

He told Rojas that he was jogging last Saturday morning when he passed by a lotto outlet, and borrowed P80 from a friend to place his bet as he had left his wallet at home.

According to Rojas, the retiree plans to give a substantial amount to each of his six children, renovate his house, and build apartments to be rented out.

He also plans to share part of his winnings with his friend for lending him money for his bet.
