Roel Pareño - The Philippine Star

ZAMBOANGA City, Philippines - Police forces have been tracking down the gunmen who abducted a coffee shop owner in the downtown of Jolo, Sulu, a local police official said Monday.

Senior Superintendent Antonio Freyra, Sulu police provincial office director, said that the group that snatched Reynato "Rene Boy" Yanga, 52, lasty Saturday could be the same group that kidnapped him eight years ago.

Freyra said that at least five men snatched Yanga as he was opening his coffee shop in Barangay Walled City in Jolo town last Saturday.

He said that Yanga had been abducted on April 2005. He was released after his family paid an undetermined amount of ransom money to the kidnappers.

Freyra said that investigators have yet to determine where Yanga was brought by his abductors.
