LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines – President Aquino yesterday vowed multibillion-peso infrastructure projects for Cebu, as he led the groundbreaking of the P3.7-billion Mactan Island Circumferential Road.
An apologetic Aquino, who arrived one and a half hour late for the event, said the circumferential road would reduce travel time from Cebu City to Mactan Island by at least 15 minutes.
The road, which spans 26.334 kilometers, starts from Barangay Pajo and ends in Barangay Poblacion, traversing Cordova town.
The project, which has three component bridges, is expected to be finished in 2016, Aquino said, noting though a slight problem on the road right of way.
