The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - A fire of still unknown origin gutted 20 houses as it spread through a residential area in Barangay Maybunga in Pasig City early Friday.

According to the Pasig City Fire Department, the fire left at least P400,000 worth of damages when it struck the houses on West Bank Road at about 2:50 a.m.

Initial investigation showed that the blaze started at the house of a certain Felipe Habay, which was located at Number 42-1 West Bank Road, Floodway, Barangay Maybunga.

Initial investigation showed that the fire, which reached the first alarm, originated from the bedroom of Habay's daughter.

The fire then swept through the houses which are all made of light materials.

Responding firemen put out the fire at 3:55 am. No one was reported killed or hurt in the incident.
