Retired soldier nabbed over illegal drugs trade

COTABATO CITY, Philippines  --- Anti-narcotics operatives on Thursday arrested here a retired Army master sergeant identified as peddler of shabu in coastal towns in Sultan Kudarat province.

The suspect, Eric Case, 47, a resident of Kalamansig town in Sultan Kudarat, yielded 13 sachets of shabu to agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency after having been cornered in a dragnet at Purok Sampaloc in Bagua area here.

Also arrested along with Case was a 13-year-old boy,  who acted as his “conduit” to the supplier from where he procured the drugs he was to bring to Kalamansig. 

The cashiered adolescent has been turned over to the office of here of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Case, now detained own at the PDEA detention facility here, will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. - John Unson
