The Philippine Star

COTABATO CITY, Philippines  --- Lawmen arrested Monday, after two months of surveillance, a leader of the New People’s Army in Kiamba town in Sarangani province.

Senior Supt. Edwin Miñon, director of the Sarangani provincial police, identified the rebel commander as Ka Joy-Joy of the NPA’s Front Committee 73.

Ka Joy-Joy, long wanted for various offenses, was cornered by government operatives in his hideout in Barangay Nalus in Kiamba, a coastal town in Sarangani.

His spouse named Khads, and two companions, identified only as Mak-Mak and Henry, were also arrested but subsequently released since they do not have any pending criminal case in any court.
