BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – A 3.3 magnitude quake hit Batanes Sunday night, the second to jolt the country’s northernmost province in a week.
No one was injured and no property damaged in the tremor, reports said.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, was felt a t 8:08 p.m. in Sabtang town, one of the seven islands comprising Batanes, which is nearer to Taiwan’s Kaohsiung City than mainland Luzon.
Sunday’s tremor came after a 4.4 magnitude quake also shook Batanes’ northernmost island town of Itbayat on March 31. The quake did not cause any damage or injury.
