BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – A Filipina wife of a British national was shot dead by two alleged robbers in front of her husband and brother in Barobo town, Surigao del Sur, Saturday morning.
Levy Lamoste Hills, 59, and her husband David Anthony, 72, were visiting their coconut and rubber farms in Purok 6, Barangay Amaga, along with her brother Jimmy, when two armed men arrived and announced the heist.
The suspects took Levy’s shoulder bag containing P175,000, jewelry and mobile phones and shot her at close range before fleeing.
The British and his brother in-law immediately reported the incident to the police.
Jimmy told police the couple had just arrived from Batangas where they are residing to visit the farm.
Police recovered from the crime scene three shells for a caliber .45 pistol, and two gold rings owned by the victim, which the suspects left in their haste to escape.
Police Office 2 Val Warren Colangcos said they have yet to identify the suspects.
