DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines – The proclamation rallies of the candidates of the Nationalist People’s Coalition in this province were well-attended, the NPC said yesterday.
Pangasinan Gov. Amado Espino Jr., Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Calimlim and first district Rep. Jesus Celeste led the NPC candidates in their campaign sorties in Infanta, Dasol and Burgos towns on April 2.
Infanta Mayor Virgilio Vallarta, who took over slain Mayor Ruperto Martinez, is running for re-election with Richard Martinez, son of the late mayor, as his running mate.
In a statement, Espino denounced the dirty tactics by their opponents, which he said has affected his family, particularly his mother who is confined at the hospital.
Espino vowed to maintain if not surpass the service they are giving to the people if they win the elections.
The campaign sorties of the NPC bets in this province were held a day after the Liberal Party ticket led by its gubernatorial aspirant, Alaminos City Mayor Hernani Braganza, kicked off its campaign sorties in the second congressional district.
