LAOAG CITY, Philippines – Police raided the houses of at least two mayoral candidates in Marcos town in this province yesterday.
Police said they are still conducting an inventory of the firearms seized from the house of mayoral bet Arsenio Agustin.
Police are still searching the house of Mayor Salvador Pillos, who is running for re-election, as of press time.
Marcos town is listed as among the areas of concern in the May elections.
Mayoral candidate Alfredo Arce was shot dead last Feb. 23 in Barangay Fortuna.
Pillos was also a victim of a slay attempt last Feb. 4.
