MANILA, Philippines - A motorcycle carrying a family of four and a passenger jeepney figured in a predawn accident in Pasig City on Monday, leaving a seven-year-old boy dead.

Senior Police Officer 2 Perlito Gillarte, chief of the Pasig City police traffic division, said that Formilles was on board a motorcycle with his parents, Simporiano,36 and Jemma, 38, and brother Viance, 8, when the accident happened along Eastbank Road, Barangay Sta. Lucia at around 3 a.m.

Gillarte said that the boy died on the spot when their motorcycle collided with the passenger jeepney with license plate number EFY 490, whose unidentified driver fled after the accident.

The boy's father was in critical condition at the Pasig City General Hospital. His wife was also confined in the same hospital.

Viance, meanwhile, sustained minor injuries and was rushed to the Mission Hospital.

Gillarte said that manhunt operations have been launched for the immediate arrest of the jeepney driver.
