MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno Aquino III has approved the promotion of four star-rank officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
On the recommendation of Interior Secretary and concurrent National Police Commission Chairman, Mar Roxas, Chief Superintendent Carmelo Valmoria was promoted to director (two-star rank) equivalent to a military major general.
Valmoria is director of the PNP Special Action Force, the brigade-size elite police unit capable of tactical police operations in sea, air and land environments.
PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima also inducted newly-promoted Chief Superintendents (one-star rank) Luis Ricardo Chavez, Executive Officer, Directorate for Integrated Police Operations in Western Mindanao; Rolando Macusi, Executive Officer, Directorate for Research and Development; and Pancho Adelberto Hubilla, Deputy Regional Director for Administration of Police Regional Office 5.
