Dennis Carcamo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The wife of an independent mayoral candidate in Maguindanao has filed a complaint before the Department of Justice against Sultan Kudarat Mayor Datu Tucao Mastura, who allegedly abducted and mauled her in 2007.

In a five-page complaint, Asia Camsak claimed that Mastura and his wife mauled her inside their residence on Mar. 9, 2007.

Mastura is now running as a Maguindanao gubernatorial candidate,

Asia also alleged that the Mastura couple also threatened to kill her if her husband, Cayton Camsak, will not bring money and a land title.

Cayton is an independent mayoral candidate in Rajah Buayan, Maguindanao.

Asia said she managed to escape from a safehouse in Merriamville on Apr. 10, 2007 after more than a month in captivity.
