Cavite mayor draws flak for 'obscene' contest

"We are expressing our dismay on supposed to be the leader of our people after seeing the video of a Cavite mayor leading an obscene contest 'pataaasan ng ihi' among (sic) two children. Mayor Lamberto Bambao should be the one ensuring the implementation of our law versus child exploitation and abuse," Akap Batay partylist group spokesperson Lean Flores said.
Flores also warned that the Ternate mayor could be liable for criminal charges under the Republic Act 7610 or an Act for the Protection Aganinst Child Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination and for Other Purposes and its Article V, whic states that anyone who will use a child in an obscene and indecent show shall suffer the penalty of prison mayor in its medium period.
"We are reminding all the aspiring politicians from local to national position that as leaders of this nation, they should first and foremost uphold the interest and welfare of our children. Leaders should always be in the forefront of implementing our laws for protecting them.
"The leader who cares about the welfare and protection of our children is the true leader that values the future of the country," Flores said. - Dennis Carcamo
