3 drug pushers nabbed in Naga

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency have seized an estimated 60 grams of  methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, worth over P300,000 from three  suspected pushers during a buy-bust operation in Naga City, PDEA said on Tuesday.

PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said the illegal drugs were confiscated from Ariel Butalon, 29; Eugene Brutas, 30; and Jack Tripulca, 30, last Mar. 16.

Reports showed that drug transaction was hatched between the suspects and a PDEA undercover agent posing as a buyer who agreed to meet at Zone 5, Looban 2, Barangay Balatas, Naga City, around 8 p.m.

Elements of PDEA Regional Office 5 and Camarines Sur Provincial Office immediately pounced on the three suspects after they handed-over a medium-sized plastic sachet containing approximately 60 grams of shabu to the poseur-buyer.

Authorities also confiscated from the three a motorcycle.

Cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) in relation to Section 26 (Conspiracy), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are now being prepared for filing in court against the suspects.  - Dennis Carcamo
