Missing DILG exec found dead

The Philippine Star

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Five days after she was reported missing, an official of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Camarines Sur was found dead Wednesday inside her  car at a parking lot on Magsaysay Avenue in Naga City, police said yesterday.

Ayres Osurman-Napire, DILG operations officer of Bombon town, was reported missing at 2 p.m. on March 8.

Senior Superintendent Renato Bataller, Bicol police spokesman, said Dennis Erich Medina, 35, who admitted killing Napire, led police to the victim’s body.

In a sworn statement, Medina said he strangled Napire to death using a rope while they were cruising Almeda Highway in Naga City.

Bataller said robbery could be the motive for the crime since the victim had just withdrawn money from a bank before she was reported missing. – Cet Dematera, Celso Amo, Cecille Suerte Felipe
