BALANGA CITY, Philippines – The common-law wife of a man questioned over the rape-slay of a 12-year-old girl in Limay, Bataan, was hacked to death last Monday morning, police said.
The body of Lilibeth Salas, 42, had multiple hack wounds inflicted using scythes, with her throat having a deep cut.
Salas’ common-law husband, Wilfredo Remetio, 52, was invited for questioning over the rape-slay of Grade 5 pupil Arlene Daulat, but police had to release him for lack of evidence.
Remetio is the caretaker of the bamboo farm where Daulat’s body was found last Sunday.
Police said no one in Barangay Saint Francis II, Limay town dared to talk about Remetio’s alleged role in the crime.
