LAOAG CITY, Philippines – Police said the same gun – a .45-caliber pistol – was used in the killing of a mayoral bet in Marcos, Ilocos Norte last Feb. 23 and his brother-in-law last year.
Senior Superintendent Gerardo Ratuita, Ilocos Norte police director, said ballistic tests on empty shells taken from both crime scenes showed mayoral bet Alfredo Arce and his brother-in-law, James Gaspar, were gunned down with the same weapon.
Arce, an independent bet, was killed by motorcycle-riding men in Barangay Fortuna, Marcos town, while Gaspar was slain in Barangay Caribquib, Banna town.
