MANILA, Philippines - A car dealer executive apparently committed suicide by leaping from the 10th floor of a condominium building in Salcedo Village in Makati City early Thursday.
The Makati City Police said 70-year-old Cesar Genato, vice president for finance of Citimotors, distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in the country, died after landing on the pavement from the 10th floor of the Le Triomphe Condominium on the corner of Gil Puyat Avenue and H.V. Dela Costa Street at about 3:55 a.m.
Police said Genato, single, went through the condominium’s canopy between the second and third floors of the building before hitting the ground.
Police said that serious problems, according to Genato’s family, could have driven him to commit suicide.
Police said a letter handwritten by the victim was found inside his condominium unit requesting that his remains be cremated.
