'Crising' over Palawan waters; to exit Friday

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Tropical depression "Crising" is now over the waters of Palawan province, the state weather bureau said before noon Thursday.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the storm's center as of 10 a.m. was "in the vicinity of Balabac, Palawan."

The weather bureau expects the storm to move out of the Philippine area of responsibility by Friday morning.

Public storm warning signal number 1 remains hoisted over Southern Palawan.

PAGASA said that the storm will bring moderate to heavy rainfall that may trigger flashfloods and landslide in Southern Palawan.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council earlier reported that the storm left two persons dead and two more missing in Mindanao.
