A child welfare group on Wednesday called on all political aspirants from the national and local levels to bare their platforms for children.
Akap Bata partylist group issued the challenge in time for today's commemoration of the World Day of Social Justice.
Akap Bata members also made their challenge to politicians as they staged a Lugaw Protest in Plaza Miranda where kids displayed balloons with the Filipino children’s wishes written on them.
Included in the six point agenda of the Filipino Children’s for the 2013 Election drawn by Akap Bata is to address hunger and malnutrition amongst Filipino children by controlling prices of basic commodities and services as well as legislating a substantial wage increase for their parents.
The group also called on May 13 national and local bets to ensure that every Filipino family has secured, livable and decent shelter in a child-friendly community that is accessible to various social services.
The group also said that instead of using kids for political gimmicks, politicians must sincerely put and serve the best interests of every Filipino child at the centerpiece of their every campaign. - Dennis Carcamo
