MANILA, Philippines - Agents of the Taguig City Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested eight persons including a Filipino-British woman at a raid on a suspected drug den in Barangay Sta. Ana on Monday afternoon.
Senior Supt. Arturo Asis, Taguig City Police chief, said the suspects were nabbed during a raid on a suspected drug den located at a three-story house in P. Burgos St. at about 4 pm.
Asis said the raid was made after the Taguig City Police and the PDEA received a tip on the suspects’ alleged illegal drug activities.
According to the Taguig Police, aside from maintaining a drug den, the suspects are also allegedly engaged in the sale of illegal drugs.
Arrested during the raid were Joana Paula Tinga, Philip Crespo, Ester Minorete, Eileen Adeza, Luisito Mabilog, Crayon Sheafer Ong, Henry Tinga and Filipino-Briton Aurora Rochay Moynihan.
Seized from the suspects were the P15,000 in marked cash, which were used by undercover police officers in buying drugs, five grams of suspected shabu, marijuana, ecstasy tablets and various drug paraphernalia.
Asis said charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) have been filed against the suspects.
