Man killed, fireman wounded in ambuscades

COTABATO CITY, Philippines – A man was killed and a fire service officer was wounded in separate ambuscades here Sunday.

Banjamin Taup died on the spot when two men on a motorcycle shot him while he was standing along a busy road in Pagagaw area.

The killing occurred after the slay attempt on Automous Region in Muslim Mindanao fire official Senior Inspector Dennis Hermoso.

Hermoso was driving his black Toyota Fortuner (ZHL-676) when two men riding a motorcycle shot him with .45 caliber pistols, wounding him in the arm.

Hermoso’s companion, Senior Fire Officer 1 Hazel Saavedra, was unhurt.
